by Pastor Ben Blumer

The gospel of Jesus Christ is the power of God to change hearts and create faith. And we (the church) are God’s only plan for sharing the gospel. Pastor Ben Blumer will challenge church leaders to  consider what it takes to create and maintain an outreach mindset as he also identifies the obstacles that can keep churches inwardly-focused.

Breakout workshops are designed to be an interactive experience where you will have a chance to ask questions, share what you know, and apply content to your specific context. When you register you will choose one of these four breakout workshops to attend.

  • #1: Equipping Elders for Shepherding

Pastor Dennis Klatt and Pastor Wayne Schoch

An individual pastor will quickly find himself spread thin and falling short if he is the only one looking out for the spiritual welfare of his flock. Assistant shepherds are also needed to partner with their pastor to encourage, correct, discipline and equip God’s people. This workshop will focus on equipping Elders to regain the straying, establish shepherding groups, and build up those who do the shepherding.

  • #2: A Church of Small groups

    Pastor Matt Ewart

Anyone can stream great sermons and listen to worship music at home. What does your church offer that someone cannot get online? In one word: community. In this workshop, you will have full access to everything NorthCross has learned in the past ten years of running a small group system. A round-table conversation will allow you to ask questions and walk away with applicable ideas for your context.

  • #3: Worship Variety in the New Hymnal

    Pastor Michael Schultz

By taking a brief look at the full product line, it will be quickly evident that plenty of variety will be available in the materials that constitute the new hymnal. How much variety are people looking for? What happens where there is too much variety or not enough? This workshop will explore how intentional worship planning can put a great deal of variety to good use in the congregation's worship life.

  • #4: Transformed Youth Ministry

    Pastor Jon Enter

We have programs to bring new members into the church, but why don’t we do that with young people while they are in grade school and high school? We think we “have them for life” because they grew up inside the church, but we don’t. We are losing them in terrifying numbers. This workshop will give you an assortment of best practices, other churches to network with, and a refocused joy in how we can refocus our ministries to transform youth by the power of the gospel.
